MARK MY WORD
In this ‘age of enlightenment’ we are possibly moving so quickly forward that we are leaving our own histories in our wake. Punctuation marks came into use as early as the 3rd Century BC and were originally used as prompts for the speaker when addressing a largely illiterate audience. With the invention of the printing press, many marks became standardized and until recently, were the marks of a literate people.
This collection of limited edition lino-cut prints is an attempt to honour and document the energy and inherent value of punctuation in our communication… before it all fades away… an homage to fading marks in a cyber world.
